形声字

据统计，现代汉字中有60%以上都是形声字，其形旁表义，声旁表音，使得汉字更加便于记忆。不过应当注意的是，形声字的形旁只是表示与其相近的意义，而声旁的表音功能也是相对有限的，有的声旁与该字同音，但大部分表示的是与该字相近的读音。例：吗、码、骂、妈
According to statistics, more than 60 percent of the modern Chinese characters are meaning-phonetic radical that shows its pronunciation. This makes the characters much easier to remember.
However, we should take notice that the meaning radical only suggests the meaning that is similar to itself, and the phonetic radical's function to suggest the pronuciation is relative.
